The water jug represents the purity and compassion while the lotus flower represents enlightenment. Tara is seen as a bodhisattva who has attained enlightenment but has chosen to remain in this world to help others achieve liberation. Tara is a popular figure of worship in Burmese Buddhism, often invoked for protection, wisdom, compassion and a symbol of hope and new beginnings.
